touch screen takes some getting used to but its easy when you get the hang of it. I wish it had a bigger memory built in, I had to buy a bigger card to down load the map i needed. over all I'm happy with it!!

I have had Garmin GPS since 2001, from the old etrex venture to the navi 295w. The oregon is a device for pros. The design is flawless and the material is amazing, you can tell the outstanding quality when you hold it for the first time.
Pros:
Really accurate.
Friendly interface.
Touchscreen.
Waterproof.
Color display.
MicroSD capability.
Custom maps.
Great material.
Cons:
AA batteries. It might be useful if you are going camping and can bring extra batteries, but I have to buy rechargeable AA batteries because I hate disposable ones.
Lack of camera. I know the 550 comes with the camera, but this one has the same software so you can see pictures, but you can't take any.
Backlight display. It is a problem when it's sunny.
Resolution and quality of image. It might be that I'm too used to the nuvi or touchscreens, but the oregon display quality is not what you would expect from a touch screen and such a good device like this one.
Basecamp. I like basecamp, but I don't like the fact that it only works with basecamp and it's not compatible with mapsource.
As you can see, the cons are perhaps subjective, so the GPS device is one of the best of its kind.
